If you are like me, food is an important part of life. Whenever I am planning a vacation, one thing I do not compromise on is the food and the views. I thought to compile a restaurant list of some of places I have been to in Nairobi for the next time you are in town.
Disclaimer, they are in no particular order.
1. Under The Swahili Tree
Set in a charming leafy garden, Under the Swahili Tree is a family-friendly restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The eclectic menu is based on Swahili flavours and local produce with fresh and vibrant ingredients. One word to describe it is, serenity!
2. Tin Roof Cafe
If you want to catch up on work in a garden setup, eat healthily and enjoy pristine nature, this is your to-go-to space. They serve a variety of nourishing smoothies, salads, wraps and other tasty treats. The space has a nice small area to play as you catch up with your friends or work.
3. Matteo’s at the Stables
Well, I must admit I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The pizzas are a delicacy. The ambience was breathtaking and for desserts, I had Icream and strawberries. I am convinced that the strawberries were hand-picked with love. The servings were generous, the food was lovely the wine was chilled… It was a perfect evening.

4. 5 Senses
Are you planning a surprise anniversary, a birthday, or even planning to propose? This is in my opinion one of the best places I have been to. The lighting is just right, the ambience and the food presentation took my breath away.
5. Unseen Nairobi
A rooftop restaurant and bar with a cinema and a view of Nairobi! I sit here a lot, especially on hot days. I work as I enjoy a nice Pineapple Mint (My favourite drink) and when I need the peace as I enjoy the silent murmurs in the background I order a Swahili Fish Curry, again, my personal favourite. The vibes it has is just dope! You should check it out.
